Stephen Ontiveros graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Journalism. 
 

While at the Cronkite School, Stephen was a member of the student-run radio station, Blaze Radio. Here, he served as a play-by-play broadcaster and color commentator for broadcasts of Sun Devil baseball, basketball, hockey, and softball, while also hosting sports talk shows and music shows.
 

Stephen’s first role in professional sports came during the 2018 MLB season when he was the Social Media Intern for the Arizona Diamondbacks. His duties in this role included assisting in coverage of D-backs home and road games, community engagement and management, execution of fan contests and giveaways, and the tabulation of social analytics for further analysis.
 

Most recently, Stephen was part of the social media team for the Arizona Coyotes. He first joined the team in November 2018 as a part-time Social Media Associate before taking on the full-time role of Social Media Specialist in July 2019, a title that he held until May 2021. Among Stephen’s responsibilities, he covered all Coyotes home and road games, took part in the ideation and execution of sponsored assets on social, generated weekly social analytic reports and summaries, oversaw the hiring and management of interns, helped in the implementation of social ads, and assisted with any player social needs and requests, such as posting, photo editing, and verification requests. Among his accolades with the Coyotes, he, along with the rest of the social team, was nominated for a 2021 Sports Business Journal award for Best in Social Media for his participation in the Coyotes’s Pilot Program as partners with Facebook.
 

He is currently open to all social media opportunities, both remote and in the Phoenix area.
